Windows 8 and how to get old hardware working

Posted by hitchingupthetrailer on 2013/09/29

I have a new desktop computer that runs MS Windows 8. My old favorite HP Laserjet 1012 worked great on XP and Vista. However it seems that it was not going to be used on Windows 8 as I could not find any native drivers for it.

How a brief Google search led me to the following forum threads. Seems if you install the Vista version of the HP Driver it works just fine. Which I just wrapped up and tested with the RMA paperwork for new poor tablet. .

Checklist For Having Children

Posted by hitchingupthetrailer on 2013/09/16

So I get these emails from http://www.jamesaltucher.com/.  After reading this one about parenting and children I think that he is onto something. I don’t think people realize what they are in for when they start having children and the full impact isn’t obvious until years after the little bundles of joy show up.

This is his post on kids. Its funny, sad and 100% accurate. Read it for yourself.
